Read Colossians 3:1-4

I love optical illusions. I have to admit that there have been occasions where I have spent almost entire afternoon where I was supposed to be working looking at random optical illusions online. Some of my favorite illusions are images that appear to be one thing when you first look at them, but, when you look at them a different way, you suddenly see something completely different. Those optical illusions are fascinating to me because, once I see the second image, I can’t believe that I couldn’t see it from the start.

The way we approach our lives is very similar to these optical illusions. We spend so much time worrying about things and making excuses as to why we can’t do all that God has us to do. We focus on our needs and all the things we don’t have. But, if we are willing to change our perspective, God will show us a whole new picture of how our lives can be. Instead of focusing on all our excuses for why we can’t do certain things, all the problems we face, and all the things we don’t have, we need to start asking ourselves first “how can I help with what I already have?”

God has given us exactly what we need to do what He created us to do. When we start focusing on what we can do with what we have instead of focusing on all we don’t have, God begins to change our perspective on life and makes us aware of all the needs around us. When we do that, there’s no limit to what He can do through our lives.]]>
