đŹ Triggered By What You Canât Get

Ever feel like everyone else is getting ahead but you?
Likeâyou work hard, but they get the raise. You do the right thing, but they get the spotlight. And before you know it, youâre chasing approval, money, or status⊠and losing peace, joy, and maybe even yourself.
This week in our Triggered series, weâre talking about envy, greed, and comparisonâand how the more you chase, the less it satisfies. Because when âenoughâ is never enough, you end up missing what matters most.
The good news? Youâre richer than you think. And what God wants for you is better than what you’re trying to get from life.

Read The New Testament In A Year
âBe dressed for service and keep your lamps burning, as though you were waiting for your master to return from the wedding feast. Then you will be ready to open the door and let him in the moment he arrives and knocks. The servants who are ready and waiting for his return will be rewarded. I tell you the truth, he himself will seat them, put on an apron, and serve them as they sit and eat! He may come in the middle of the night or just before dawn. But whenever he comes, he will reward the servants who are ready. âUnderstand this: If a homeowner knew exactly when a burglar was coming, he would not permit his house to be broken into. You also must be ready all the time, for the Son of Man will come when least expected.â Peter asked, âLord, is that illustration just for us or for everyone?â And the Lord replied, âA faithful, sensible servant is one to whom the master can give the responsibility of managing his other household servants and feeding them. If the master returns and finds that the servant has done a good job, there will be a reward. I tell you the truth, the master will put that servant in charge of all he owns. But what if the servant thinks, âMy master wonât be back for a while,â and he begins beating the other servants, partying, and getting drunk? The master will return unannounced and unexpected, and he will cut the servant in pieces and banish him with the unfaithful. âAnd a servant who knows what the master wants, but isnât prepared and doesnât carry out those instructions, will be severely punished. But someone who does not know, and then does something wrong, will be punished only lightly. When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required. Luke 12:35-48
God, for whom and through whom everything was made, chose to bring many children into glory. And it was only right that he should make Jesus, through his suffering, a perfect leader, fit to bring them into their salvation. So now Jesus and the ones he makes holy have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them his brothers and sisters. For he said to God, âI will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people.â He also said, âI will put my trust in him,â that is, âI and the children God has given me.â Because Godâs children are human beingsâmade of flesh and bloodâthe Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying. We also know that the Son did not come to help angels; he came to help the descendants of Abraham. Therefore, it was necessary for him to be made in every respect like us, his brothers and sisters, so that he could be our merciful and faithful High Priest before God. Then he could offer a sacrifice that would take away the sins of the people. Since he himself has gone through suffering and testing, he is able to help us when we are being tested. Hebrews 2:10-18
