You Talkin To Me? – Monday

Week 3 |OUT – Loving More People

Listen instead of reading

Take a Moment

Ask God what He wants to show you before reading today

Read The Daily

For the Lord gave us this command when he said,‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’(Acts 13:47)

We have a guy that helps us out from time to time at C3 named Rick.  Rick is from New York and sounds like he could play in any mobster movie ever made.  One day, he was painting and talking to one of the little kids and was trying to teach him to say (in a really strong NY accent) “Hey, you talkin to me?  The best part was this little kid just shook his head no and walked off.  It made me laugh.

During the Chasing Epic Challenge, we have been looking at the Up, In, Out lifestyle of Jesus in Mark 1 & 2.  To summarize it at C3, we like to say that we are a Family (Up) of Servants (In) on Mission (Out) to help others live and love like Jesus.

Here’s the problem.  I think the majority of people that follow Jesus think the whole living on mission thing is for someone else.  It’s like we are all the little kid I mentioned above shaking our heads no and assuming that Jesus is talking about someone else.  But He’s not.  He’s talking to you. If you claim to follow Jesus then you are invited to join Him on His mission everyday. It’s not hard either.  Just ask Him to help you show the same love He’s given you to those around you.  That’s what this week’s challenge is all about.  Take a moment for one random act of kindness for someone you don’t know.  What should you do?  I don’t know.  Just pray and ask Jesus to guide you to see someone that you could bless.

“Hey, I’m talkin to you!”

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?

God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
