A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need. (Proverbs 17:17)
With our team, we’ll throw around the acronym DWYSYWD quite a bit. DWYSYWD stands for “Do What You Say You Will Do”. I know for myself personally that sometimes (okay most times), I feel like I’m being pulled in about 200 different directions. I’m sure most of you can relate. However, no matter how busy I’ve become or probably even brought on myself, I have to be reliable. Think about the people in your life that say they’ll do something, yet don’t follow through. We all know that we make mental notes and decide that although we may still love them, we don’t trust them. That’s why doing what you say you will do is so important. I think it’s even more important in your closest relationships. True friends are reliable
As we continue with the story of two great friends, David and Jonathan have now devised a plan to keep David from being killed by Saul. Sadly, then Jonathan’s dad even turns on him willing to kill him. What would you have done if your dad tried to kill you? Note that Jonathan still carried out the plan. He was reliable.
Here’s something to think about…are you a reliable friend? Do you keep your commitments to your friends? Do What You Say You Will Do!
Prayer for the Day
God what are you showing me? What am I going to do about it?
God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
