The Purpose Path: We Make It Or Miss It…Together | Friday

Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. (‭‭Philippians 2:2‬)

I love football. I think it is one of the greatest sports to teach life lessons.  Not to sound cheesy, but I think my favorite part of football is that it is so similar to the church.  You have all different types of players, skills, body types and positions, yet they all have to use their unique abilities together for one single play.  Then another and another.  Everyone is doing something different, yet they are all trying to accomplish the exact same thing.  If that’s not a perfect picture of the church body, then I don’t know what is.

We are a team. If we share the wins, we also share the losses. If we see something’s not going in the right direction, we jump in and help.  If you are a sports fan, then you know the feeling. We’re watching the game or a part of it and there’s electricity in the air. You know each person on the team is in unison and it’s tangible. Paul was calling the church to its potential and in this same way, our goal is for unification in love, spirit, mind, and vision. When we accept our individual roles but work with the giftings of those next to us we will be able to change the world, one person at a time.

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?

God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
