For the Lord gave us this command when he said, ‘I have made you a light to the Gentiles, to bring salvation to the farthest corners of the earth.’  (Acts 13:47)

In 1939, King George VI of England faced one of his greatest challenges. World War II was looming, and the nation was on the brink of disaster. But King George had a personal battle—he struggled with a speech impediment. Yet, in the face of immense pressure, he delivered a powerful radio broadcast to inspire his people. His passion for his country was greater than his fear of failure. With the help of his speech therapist, the King delivered a message of courage and resilience, rallying his people for the fight ahead. It wasn’t perfect, but it was passionate—and that passion made all the difference.

Like King George, our passion can lead us to our purpose, even when the odds are stacked against us. Passion stirs something deep within us that drives us to action. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about being persistent in what matters most to you. The things that stir your heart can point you toward the purpose God has designed for you.  In the Bible, we see this same passion in the life of Paul. His heart burned for people who were far from God, particularly the Gentiles. Despite being beaten, imprisoned, and ridiculed, Paul continued to preach the message of Jesus because his passion drove him. He understood that his purpose was to be a light to those who had never heard the good news.  So, let me ask you a question.  Where is your passion?  What stirs your soul?  It’ll point you towards your purpose.

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?

God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
