South Point Community Churches and For The Tri-State partnered up this past weekend for our first Serve Day. We did some amazing things for the community, and I think we really made a difference in just those few short hours that we gave back, but Serve Day didn’t just end September 15th. C3ers are still hard at work making an impact on the Tri-State. We received calls from multiple C3ers on how they were still seeing the need around them. One in particular stood out to me. He said he had a friend who recently became disabled, and they could no longer walk up their front porch steps. He said he wanted to build them a wheelchair ramp. So he put a ton of work into drawing up the design that would work for their home, he went to Lowe’s, purchased the materials, and went to work on it. He didn’t hesitate or make excuses. He saw the need, and he was able to help. When I heard him talking about this, I immediately thought I could never build anything like that, or if I did it wouldn’t be safe to walk on anyways.
But it made me start thinking, what if I just did what I was able to do. It doesn’t have to be something as big as a wheelchair ramp, but I could do small things that could have a huge impact on someone’s life. That’s exactly what our fellow C3er is doing. He’s making the impossible possible for someone. So remember: The things that we do may not change the world, but we could help change someone’s world
