Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. (1 Thessalonians 5:11)

Post by Alisha Miller

When I was younger, my mom would always remind me to sit up straight and have good posture. “Good posture builds strength,” she’d say. At the time, I didn’t think much of it. But as I grew older, I realized that good posture wasn’t just about physical appearance—it was about presenting myself confidently and with purpose. Humility is like good posture for the soul. There’s no weakness in humility. In fact, true humility empowers us with great strength.

It takes humility to give someone else a compliment, and it also takes boldness. That’s why more people don’t do it. It takes confidence to believe your words have the power to lift someone up, and that doing so doesn’t take anything away from you. When you have a posture of humility, it’s easy to have confidence. Two big things happen when you learn to be humble. First, your eyes are opened to a whole new perspective on the world around you. Humility allows you to see your own worth while also recognizing and appreciating the value in others. This shift in perspective will change you. Believe me.

Your conversations will change. Your motivations will be different. The way you understand and relate to others will transform. And that brings me to the second thing that happens when you walk in humility: People will notice. When you live as though life isn’t all about you—because it isn’t—you become more attractive. Humility works like a magnet. You’ll find that more people want to be around you, not because of what you can do for them, but because of how you make them feel.

So today, straighten your soul’s posture. Walk in humility, and let your strength shine through.

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?

God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
