God’s Vision For My Life | Monday

Week 7 | Your Purpose Pieces

Listen instead of reading

Take a Moment

Ask God what He wants to show you before reading today

That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9)

You’ve probably heard phrases like, “Get a vision for your life!” or, “Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” But in a world where everyone is searching for direction, I’ll ask you the five questions we’ve been taking from the life of Paul to find our purpose:

  1. What are the stories that shape me?
  2. What are the giftings that make me?
  3. What are the topics that shake me?
  4. What are the investments that take me?
  5. What are the perspectives that wake me?

It’s not just about your vision for your life. Instead, it’s about the personal journey of discovery that every human being should embark on: What was I created for? This is a question people of all ages—from 5 to 55 and beyond—find themselves asking at different stages of life.

“God’s vision is what indeed directs your life. Without it, you risk stagnating and wandering aimlessly.”

There are two most important days in your life: the day you were born and the day you discovered why you were born. For those who are following Jesus, it’s essential to seek out the purpose for which God has chosen you. What will you dedicate the rest of your life to? Like Legos, we were designed with a clear plan but it needs to be assembled in the process. Your purpose comes in pieces.  Remember: If you give up or don’t try because the piece doesn’t look like the plan, then you’ll miss your purpose.

Action Step: Take time today to start praying and asking God to guide you through the five questions above.

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?

God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
