Read The Daily

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”(Galatians 5:13)

One of my favorite outreaches is almost here: Santa’s Workshop! One of the parts I love is when I get to take our NXT LVL teens to shop for the kiddos. What I love most about it is that we give the kids a budget, send them in the stores and tell them to go nuts! There are always one or two kids that are just blown away that we don’t tell them exactly what to buy. We tell them to pick out things they would want for themselves, and it would mean way more for them to choose it than all of us old people (myself included). It’s awesome to see how much they think through what these kids would want for Christmas.

It’s just like the freedom we have through Jesus. Freedom in Christ isn’t about simply doing whatever we want. Instead, it’s an invitation to want what Christ wants and to let His love flow through us. Jesus shows us a way of living that goes beyond self-focused choices. When we use our freedom to serve and lift up those around us, we experience the fullness of God’s love and joy. This is real freedom—not just to live as we please, but to live in a way that brings love and grace to others.

Today, let’s ask ourselves, How can I use my freedom to reflect Christ’s love? May we be reminded that real freedom isn’t about satisfying our desires but about choosing to love others as Jesus loves us. How about you? Where in your life can you use your freedom to show Christ’s love more fully?

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?

God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
