“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:25)
When my kids were little, I took them to Disney World. I had a plan—a map of all the best rides, shows, and attractions. But my daughter, overwhelmed by the lights and characters, kept darting off in excitement, chasing whatever caught her eye. It wasn’t until she grabbed my hand and let me lead that she really experienced all the wonder I had planned for her. How often do we do the same thing with God? We see something shiny—a goal, a dream, a quick fix—and we run after it, thinking we know best. But God is gently saying, “Take My hand. I have a better way.”
The more we follow Jesus, the less we chase the meaningless
Paul reminds us that following the Spirit isn’t about fixing ourselves or figuring everything out. It’s about staying in step with Him. Just like I had the map at Disney, God has the plan for our lives. We don’t need to know every detail; we just need to trust Him enough to follow. The more we follow Jesus, the less we need to fix ourselves. He doesn’t ask us to clean ourselves up or figure it all out—He asks us to trust Him, to hold His hand, and to follow where He leads. What are you trying to fix in your life right now? What would it look like to let go of that burden and simply follow Jesus today?
Prayer for the Day
God what are you showing me? What am I going to do about it?
God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
