A Light in the Darkness | Tuesday

Christmas At The Movies Week 1

Listen instead of reading

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.” (Isaiah 9:2)

In The Polar Express, a young boy struggles to believe in the magic of Christmas. The train takes him on an incredible journey to the North Pole, where he discovers something extraordinary: belief isn’t about seeing; it’s about trusting what’s true even when it’s hard to see. The shining star at the North Pole becomes a symbol of hope and light for him and the other children on the train. The Polar Express reminds us of a world waiting in hope for something extraordinary. Isaiah 9:2 paints a picture of people walking in darkness, longing for light. That light is Jesus, who came as the ultimate hope for a world that often feels hopeless.

Christmas is a time to remember that Jesus is the light that breaks through our darkest nights. His arrival wasn’t just a moment in history—it was a promise that we never have to walk alone. Like the boy on the train, we don’t have to see everything clearly to believe in the hope Jesus offers. He is the light that guides us, fills us with joy, and reminds us that even in the darkest times, His light shines brightly.

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?

God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
