“…And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:203)
In Home Alone, Kevin faces two burglars determined to rob his house. He sets traps and fights back, but the danger feels overwhelming until the unexpected happens. The mysterious neighbor Kevin once feared stepped in to protect him, saving him from harm. Kevin realizes he’s never truly been alone—someone was always watching out for him.
Kevin’s story illustrates a profound truth: God has your back. In life, we face battles that feel too big for us—forces of sin, fear, and doubt that threaten to overwhelm us. But the good news of Christmas is that God doesn’t just go before us or walk beside us; He stands behind us, ready to protect and sustain us when the enemy attacks. Jesus’ promise to be with us “to the very end of the age” means we’re never defenseless. He’s not just watching over us—He’s actively working for our good.
Sin is a powerful force, but grace is stronger.
When Jesus came to Earth, He conquered sin and death so that we could live in freedom. Like Kevin’s neighbor stepping in at the last moment, Jesus intervenes on our behalf, reminding us that the battle is already won. We don’t have to fight alone—He’s with us every step of the way. God is behind you, protecting you and giving you the strength to overcome life’s battles.
Prayer for the Day
God what are you showing me? What am I going to do about it?
God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
