“Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!” (Luke 2:10-11)

In The Star, Bo the donkey dreams of escaping his dull life to join a grand caravan. But his seemingly small choice to help Mary on her journey leads him to the greatest moment in history—the birth of Jesus. Bo’s story reminds us that God works powerfully through the ordinary moments of our lives. It’s easy to get caught up in looking for the “next best thing” and miss the miracles God is doing right now. When we embrace the ordinary and trust God with it, He transforms it into something extraordinary.
God’s extraordinary plans often start with ordinary moments. Trust Him, and you’ll see how He’s working in your life.
Think about the shepherds in the Christmas story. They were just tending their flocks—a routine, unimpressive task—when angels appeared to share the greatest news ever told. God didn’t choose kings or celebrities to witness Jesus’ birth. He chose ordinary people faithfully living their lives. The good news of Christmas is that we don’t have to be searching for something spectacular to experience God’s best. His plans are already in motion, using even the smallest parts of our day to make an eternal impact.
Prayer for the Day
God what are you showing me? What am I going to do about it?
God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
