“Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.’”(Luke 2:13-14)
Post by Alisha Miller
Several years ago during Christmas the entire Miller household was recovering from the flu. We had big plans to visit family, have dinner, and open presents, but no one really wanted to be around us that day so we were stuck at home. We all moped around the house that afternoon, it was the worst Christmas ever. Then my sons decided to get a family game of Mario Kart going. We sat in the living room for hours playing that game together, trash talking, and having the best time. We made frozen pizzas for dinner and ate way too much junk. The kids still talk about that Christmas, and how much fun we had on “the worst Christmas ever”. It wasn’t what we had planned, but it turned into some of the best memories.
Bo’s journey was full of surprises, but through the unexpected twists, he found a greater purpose. The story of Jesus’ birth was also unexpected. No one would have predicted that the King of Kings would be born in a stable, yet this humble beginning was part of God’s perfect plan. Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned, but God uses the unexpected to shape our stories for His glory. When we trust His plan, even the surprises can bring us joy and purpose.
Prayer for the Day
God what are you showing me? What am I going to do about it?
God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
