đŸ”„ Day 26: Trusting God’s Timing

The Lie: It’s too late for you to make a difference
The Truth Bomb: God’s timing is always perfect

Read The Daily:
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him
Hope in the Lord and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are destroyed, you will see it.” – Psalm 37:7, 34

We all have goals for our future. After I graduated high school, I had my whole life mapped out. I planned to study theater performance, graduate, launch my career in entertainment, and use that platform to glorify God. But over time, my ambitions shifted. By the time I finished college, my goals were all about me—making money, gaining recognition, and enjoying the ride.

Long story short, none of those plans worked out the way I imagined.

After five years away, I found myself moving back home. At first, I was excited to be close to family again. I appreciated the lower cost of living, even if it came with some nostalgia for my favorite deli five hours away. But as the months passed, I felt deflated. I hadn’t achieved what I set out to do, and I worried it was too late to make a difference.

I told myself I wouldn’t stay long, but every time I planned my next move, those plans fell apart. There was no finish line in sight, and for the first time, I realized I had no control over what was going to happen—or when.

I began to ask God for patience. I prayed for the Holy Spirit to give me peace, and He reminded me that I was exactly where He wanted me to be. It wasn’t about my timeline, my accomplishments, or even my goals. It was about trusting Him, right where I was.

It’s not about what I’m doing, but about who I serve when I’m doing it

Psalm 37:7, 34 says, “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him
Hope in the Lord and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land.” God’s timing is perfect. When life doesn’t go according to plan, He’s still working, often in ways we don’t yet understand.

Don’t miss out on what God is doing in and around you. Wherever you are today, He has something for you to do with Him and for Him. It’s not too late. Trust His timing and stay faithful.

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?
God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?

As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been blind from birth. “Rabbi,” his disciples asked him, “why was this man born blind? Was it because of his own sins or his parents’ sins?” “It was not because of his sins or his parents’ sins,” Jesus answered. “This happened so the power of God could be seen in him. We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work. But while I am here in the world, I am the light of the world.” Then he spit on the ground, made mud with the saliva, and spread the mud over the blind man’s eyes. He told him, “Go wash yourself in the pool of Siloam” (Siloam means “sent”). So the man went and washed and came back seeing! His neighbors and others who knew him as a blind beggar asked each other, “Isn’t this the man who used to sit and beg?” Some said he was, and others said, “No, he just looks like him!” But the beggar kept saying, “Yes, I am the same one!” They asked, “Who healed you? What happened?” He told them, “The man they call Jesus made mud and spread it over my eyes and told me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash yourself.’ So I went and washed, and now I can see!” “Where is he now?” they asked. “I don’t know,” he replied. Then they took the man who had been blind to the Pharisees, because it was on the Sabbath that Jesus had made the mud and healed him. The Pharisees asked the man all about it. So he told them, “He put the mud over my eyes, and when I washed it away, I could see!” Some of the Pharisees said, “This man Jesus is not from God, for he is working on the Sabbath.” Others said, “But how could an ordinary sinner do such miraculous signs?” So there was a deep division of opinion among them. Then the Pharisees again questioned the man who had been blind and demanded, “What’s your opinion about this man who healed you?” The man replied, “I think he must be a prophet.” The Jewish leaders still refused to believe the man had been blind and could now see, so they called in his parents. They asked them, “Is this your son? Was he born blind? If so, how can he now see?” His parents replied, “We know this is our son and that he was born blind, but we don’t know how he can see or who healed him. Ask him. He is old enough to speak for himself.” His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, who had announced that anyone saying Jesus was the Messiah would be expelled from the synagogue. That’s why they said, “He is old enough. Ask him.”   John 9:1-23

Dear brothers and sisters, if I were still preaching that you must be circumcised—as some say I do—why am I still being persecuted? If I were no longer preaching salvation through the cross of Christ, no one would be offended. I just wish that those troublemakers who want to mutilate you by circumcision would mutilate themselves. For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you are always biting and devouring one another, watch out! Beware of destroying one another. So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses.  Galatians 6:11-18
