🔥 Day 27: Reigniting the Fire

The Lie: The fire’s gone out in your life
The Truth Bomb: God’s love is the spark that reignites your heart

Read The Daily:
“And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.” – Romans 5:5

Post by Allie Stallard (Coal Grove High School)

Sometimes life feels like the fire inside you has burned out. Stress, loneliness, or feeling like you don’t measure up can leave you feeling distant from God and disconnected from your purpose. I’ve felt that way many times—caught up in the busyness of life and distracted by things that don’t really matter. Those distractions leave me feeling burnt out and spiritually empty.

For me, church camp is where I feel the closest to God. There, without distractions, surrounded by people worshiping for the same purpose, I feel full of the Holy Spirit and on fire for Jesus. It’s a place where everything feels clear, and I can’t wait to tell others about Him. But when I return home, reality hits. Within a few weeks, the fire fades, and I find myself falling back into the same routines—pushing God off to the side.

What reignites that fire for me are the small acts of kindness and love from others that remind me of what I’m really here for: to serve God and share the good news. These reminders, whether it’s a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or someone praying for me, light the spark again.

God’s love is like a match that lights up your soul again

Even when we mess up, God’s love and grace remain constant. He’s always there to forgive us and bring us back to Him. Romans 5:5 reminds us that God’s love is poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit. His love never runs out, and it’s the spark that reignites our hearts when we feel burned out.

Today, pause and let His love spark something new in you. Whether it’s through prayer, a moment of worship, or reaching out to someone who cares, trust that God is ready to reignite the fire in your heart.

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?
God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?

So for the second time they called in the man who had been blind and told him, “God should get the glory for this, because we know this man Jesus is a sinner.” “I don’t know whether he is a sinner,” the man replied. “But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see!” “But what did he do?” they asked. “How did he heal you?” “Look!” the man exclaimed. “I told you once. Didn’t you listen? Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples, too?” Then they cursed him and said, “You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses! We know God spoke to Moses, but we don’t even know where this man comes from.” “Why, that’s very strange!” the man replied. “He healed my eyes, and yet you don’t know where he comes from? We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but he is ready to hear those who worship him and do his will. Ever since the world began, no one has been able to open the eyes of someone born blind. If this man were not from God, he couldn’t have done it.” “You were born a total sinner!” they answered. “Are you trying to teach us?” And they threw him out of the synagogue. When Jesus heard what had happened, he found the man and asked, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?” The man answered, “Who is he, sir? I want to believe in him.” “You have seen him,” Jesus said, “and he is speaking to you!” “Yes, Lord, I believe!” the man said. And he worshiped Jesus. Then Jesus told him, “I entered this world to render judgment—to give sight to the blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind.” Some Pharisees who were standing nearby heard him and asked, “Are you saying we’re blind?” “If you were blind, you wouldn’t be guilty,” Jesus replied. “But you remain guilty because you claim you can see.”   John 9:24-41

This letter is from Paul, Silas, and Timothy. We are writing to the church in Thessalonica, to you who belong to God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. May God give you grace and peace. We always thank God for all of you and pray for you constantly. As we pray to our God and Father about you, we think of your faithful work, your loving deeds, and the enduring hope you have because of our Lord Jesus Christ. We know, dear brothers and sisters, that God loves you and has chosen you to be his own people. For when we brought you the Good News, it was not only with words but also with power, for the Holy Spirit gave you full assurance that what we said was true. And you know of our concern for you from the way we lived when we were with you. So you received the message with joy from the Holy Spirit in spite of the severe suffering it brought you. In this way, you imitated both us and the Lord. As a result, you have become an example to all the believers in Greece—throughout both Macedonia and Achaia. And now the word of the Lord is ringing out from you to people everywhere, even beyond Macedonia and Achaia, for wherever we go we find people telling us about your faith in God. We don’t need to tell them about it, for they keep talking about the wonderful welcome you gave us and how you turned away from idols to serve the living and true God. And they speak of how you are looking forward to the coming of God’s Son from heaven—Jesus, whom God raised from the dead. He is the one who has rescued us from the terrors of the coming judgment.  1 Thessalonians 1-10
