The Huddle – The Power of Who You Surround Yourself With
Read The Daily:
“All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.” – Acts 2:44-45

A team doesn’t win without a strong huddle. At different points in the game, the team comes together to reset, strategize, and encourage each other. Without that connection, everyone would just be running in different directions. I saw this happen at a basketball game a few weeks ago. The team I was watching had just brought the ball across the half court line and all the girls were running into each other looking back at the coach completely lost. They called a timeout, got into the huddle, discussed the play and then got back onto the court and easily scored a layup. That huddle allowed them to all get on the same page. The early church got this—they shared everything, supported each other, and made sure no one was left behind.
Think about the people you surround yourself with.
Are the people in your huddle pushing you toward your purpose, or are they pulling you away from it?
It’s easy to think we can do life on our own, but the truth is, we all need a huddle—a group of people who have our backs, lift us up, and help us stay focused on what really matters. Jesus modeled this so well in his own life. To quote Trent (who is probably quoting someone else) “people who weren’t like Jesus, liked Jesus”. He would spend his days out teaching or healing or talking to so many different people, BUT at the end of the day he came back to his team, his disciples. He knew the importance of having a strong team that he could lean on when things got tough.
The best teams don’t just rely on individual talent; they rely on each other. Who’s in your huddle? And more importantly—are you showing up for the people who need you?
Prayer for the Day
God what are you showing me? What am I going to do about it?
God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going.” “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said. “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is. From now on, you do know him and have seen him!” Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.” Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the work you have seen me do. “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it! John 14:1-14
Now, dear brothers and sisters, let us clarify some things about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and how we will be gathered to meet him. Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. Don’t believe them, even if they claim to have had a spiritual vision, a revelation, or a letter supposedly from us. Don’t be fooled by what they say. For that day will not come until there is a great rebellion against God and the man of lawlessness is revealed—the one who brings destruction. He will exalt himself and defy everything that people call god and every object of worship. He will even sit in the temple of God, claiming that he himself is God. Don’t you remember that I told you about all this when I was with you? And you know what is holding him back, for he can be revealed only when his time comes. For this lawlessness is already at work secretly, and it will remain secret until the one who is holding it back steps out of the way. Then the man of lawlessness will be revealed, but the Lord Jesus will slay him with the breath of his mouth and destroy him by the splendor of his coming. This man will come to do the work of Satan with counterfeit power and signs and miracles. He will use every kind of evil deception to fool those on their way to destruction, because they refuse to love and accept the truth that would save them. So God will cause them to be greatly deceived, and they will believe these lies. Then they will be condemned for enjoying evil rather than believing the truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12
