Trust the Timing, Not Just the Outcome

Read The Daily:
“Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you.” – Psalm 37:5

I love sports. I love the competition, pushing myself to play the game better. That’s how I get enjoyment out of it. One of the most underrated skills in all sports is timing. We often think that it’s just about being strong or being fast, that that is what makes a good player. But timing might be everything when you think about it. The “When” matters. In baseball it’s about “when” to swing the bat, or leave a base. In football it’s about “when” to release the pass, when to jump to tackle. In basketball, it’s “when” you release a shot or when you make a cut to the basket. It doesn’t matter how strong or how fast you are at something if you can’t get the timing down, you won’t enjoy the game at all.

Timing doesn’t just apply to sports. Life is similar to this in many ways. There is a timing of “when” things will happen. There are seasons in life just like there are seasons on our earth. God has designed things in such a way that things have a flow to them and if we can’t get on the same page we will be out of sync. To do this, sometimes it’s about waiting. It’s not the right time to jump in or jump out of something. God has a timing that He has things happen, and the question for us is “Can you hear the music?”
It says in Galatians 4:4 ““But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son,…” God could’ve chose to send him thousands of years before or thousands of years after. But He had a plan that reached a peak at when He sent Jesus to us, which is evident that it was successful as we are Christ followers here still 2,000 years after He was on this earth.

Do you believe God could have a plan for your life too?

Do you believe God has timing for your life in which things can happen? If you do believe, trust the process, believe that God will come through in His own ways, “when” it is time. But don’t forget, many people missed out on the Messiah In Jesus because they believed that He wasn’t what God was supposed to send. God will come through “when” it is time. He won’t allow us to bear more than we can bear, so continue to believe and listen for His music so you will know when the time is right.

4 x 6 Plan | Read: John 19:28-42 & 1 Corinthians 4:14-21

Jesus knew that his mission was now finished, and to fulfill Scripture he said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of sour wine was sitting there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put it on a hyssop branch, and held it up to his lips. When Jesus had tasted it, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. It was the day of preparation, and the Jewish leaders didn’t want the bodies hanging there the next day, which was the Sabbath (and a very special Sabbath, because it was Passover week). So they asked Pilate to hasten their deaths by ordering that their legs be broken. Then their bodies could be taken down. So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the two men crucified with Jesus. But when they came to Jesus, they saw that he was already dead, so they didn’t break his legs. One of the soldiers, however, pierced his side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out. (This report is from an eyewitness giving an accurate account. He speaks the truth so that you also may continue to believe.) These things happened in fulfillment of the Scriptures that say, “Not one of his bones will be broken,” and “They will look on the one they pierced.” Afterward Joseph of Arimathea, who had been a secret disciple of Jesus (because he feared the Jewish leaders), asked Pilate for permission to take down Jesus’ body. When Pilate gave permission, Joseph came and took the body away. With him came Nicodemus, the man who had come to Jesus at night. He brought about seventy-five pounds of perfumed ointment made from myrrh and aloes. Following Jewish burial custom, they wrapped Jesus’ body with the spices in long sheets of linen cloth. The place of crucifixion was near a garden, where there was a new tomb, never used before. And so, because it was the day of preparation for the Jewish Passover and since the tomb was close at hand, they laid Jesus there.  John 19:28-42

I am not writing these things to shame you, but to warn you as my beloved children. For even if you had ten thousand others to teach you about Christ, you have only one spiritual father. For I became your father in Christ Jesus when I preached the Good News to you. So I urge you to imitate me. That’s why I have sent Timothy, my beloved and faithful child in the Lord. He will remind you of how I follow Christ Jesus, just as I teach in all the churches wherever I go. Some of you have become arrogant, thinking I will not visit you again. But I will come—and soon—if the Lord lets me, and then I’ll find out whether these arrogant people just give pretentious speeches or whether they really have God’s power. For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power. Which do you choose? Should I come with a rod to punish you, or should I come with love and a gentle spirit?  1 Corinthians 4:14-21
