For Such a Time as This | Saturday – Week 10

Listen instead of reading

Take a Moment

Ask God what He wants to show you before reading today

Read The Daily

“And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14)

The discovery of penicillin is fascinating.  Scientist Alexander Fleming was about to throw away a petri dish of bacteria when he noticed mold growing on it. The mold was actually killing the bacteria! Fleming realized the importance of what he’d come across by accident, leading to the development of the world’s first antibiotic. Such a major medical advance, from simply being observant at the right moment.

God orchestrated Esther’s life so she could save her people at just the right moment. When faced with this challenge, her cousin Mordecai encouraged her to seize the opportunity God had given her to make a difference.

Like Fleming and Esther, we are strategically placed by God to change the world through small acts of obedience. You are alive for such a time as this. As we seek God’s heart for the world around us, He positions us to reach and restore specific people only we can touch. His plans go far beyond what we can envision. When you feel God nudging you toward a person or opportunity, don’t forget that you are in that moment for a reason. You never know the lives that might be transformed simply because you showed up.

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?

God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
