Grace Thrives in the Chaos

Read The Daily:
“I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.” — Philippians 4:11

Our 1st message from the vault this past Sunday was Christmas Vacation.  In the movie, everything that could go wrong… does. Nothing turns out the way Clark planned, yet somehow he still looks up and says, “I did it.” Not because everything worked—but because grace met him in the mess.

That’s a powerful reminder: peace doesn’t come from life behaving. It comes from learning how to stand steady when it doesn’t. Contentment isn’t pretending chaos doesn’t exist—it’s choosing not to let chaos be in charge.

The apostle Paul talked about learning contentment in every situation—full or empty, winning or waiting. That kind of peace isn’t automatic. It’s learned over time, through surrender and trust.

Today, if life feels loud or messy, don’t rush past it. Grace grows there. And sometimes the win isn’t fixing everything—it’s realizing you’re still standing.

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?
God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?

Read The New Testament In A Year

The next morning a group of Jews got together and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul. There were more than forty of them in the conspiracy. They went to the leading priests and elders and told them, “We have bound ourselves with an oath to eat nothing until we have killed Paul. So you and the high council should ask the commander to bring Paul back to the council again. Pretend you want to examine his case more fully. We will kill him on the way.” But Paul’s nephew—his sister’s son—heard of their plan and went to the fortress and told Paul. Paul called for one of the Roman officers and said, “Take this young man to the commander. He has something important to tell him.” So the officer did, explaining, “Paul, the prisoner, called me over and asked me to bring this young man to you because he has something to tell you.” The commander took his hand, led him aside, and asked, “What is it you want to tell me?” Paul’s nephew told him, “Some Jews are going to ask you to bring Paul before the high council tomorrow, pretending they want to get some more information. But don’t do it! There are more than forty men hiding along the way ready to ambush him. They have vowed not to eat or drink anything until they have killed him. They are ready now, just waiting for your consent.” “Don’t let anyone know you told me this,” the commander warned the young man. Acts 23:12-22

Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air. And a mighty shout came from the throne in the Temple, saying, “It is finished!” Then the thunder crashed and rolled, and lightning flashed. And a great earthquake struck—the worst since people were placed on the earth. The great city of Babylon split into three sections, and the cities of many nations fell into heaps of rubble. So God remembered all of Babylon’s sins, and he made her drink the cup that was filled with the wine of his fierce wrath. And every island disappeared, and all the mountains were leveled. There was a terrible hailstorm, and hailstones weighing as much as seventy-five pounds fell from the sky onto the people below. They cursed God because of the terrible plague of the hailstorm. Revelation 16:17-21
