This Is My Church! | Tuesday – Week 13

Listen instead of reading

Take a Moment

Ask God what He wants to show you before reading today

Read The Daily

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17)

“This is my church!”  That’s the statement a friend of mine made while meeting one morning.  He’s actually an amazing guy that started and is a key leader of a church himself.  The point he was making was that our group was his key connection to grow.  He said that our group challenged him  to see the good news in everyday moments/struggles and how to better live a life on purpose.  It’s like a great sports team that you watch where everyone and everything seems to click.

Have you experienced those occasional moments in band, sports, work or study groups when everything just “clicks”? Like your group is in total sync, functioning like a single organism? Those glimpses reveal how God designed us for an interdependent community, not just solo acts. We need others to become the best, fullest versions of ourselves.

Just check nature: wolves hunt in packs, geese fly in vees, fish swim in schools. We too must run together if we want to run fast, far and with greater purpose. If you don’t have a smaller group, invite just one other friend this week to start meeting regularly focused on making a difference through blessings and good deeds. Then watch what God will do!

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?

God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
