Simple Words That Will Change Your Life

What if there was New “Master-plan” That Takes The Pressure Off of following Jesus! If you feel like you have to have the “master plan” before ever making disciples or helping others ultimately turn around and do the same then I want to share three simple words that will change your life forever.. This is a simple process that I’ve come to call “Who’s next, Lord? & What next, Lord?”

Who’s next, Lord?

This tool also works the same in every area of your life, really, but especially well with the BLESS habits. The key to joining Jesus in helping others to live like Him is to plan to serve and love everyone God brings in your path. It all starts with the simple weekly three word prayer, “Who’s next, Lord?” Who are you bringing my way that’s leaning in to build a relationship? It’s simple but it actually works! Before Jesus made a big decision such as choosing his 12 main followers, he first prayed all night. I have never stayed up all night praying! But even if you’re not feeling an all-nighter…notice the point of what Jesus did. He spent considerable time asking God in prayer, “Who’s next, Lord?” I truly believe God will guide you through the Holy Spirit of people leaning in.

What next, Lord?

The second step is we began to pray for these relationships, asking, “What next, Lord? What do you want us to do next, specifically, with each of these people you have brought into our lives?” Ask God for next steps to develop these relationships and love your friends.

In life and on mission you don’t need to have the master plan if you ask the Master who has the plan.

It usually isn’t anything profound or crazy either; more stuff like, “Give Christy a call this week to see how that job interview went that she was nervous about.” Or “Call Mike and see if he can pick you up from dropping your car off at the shop” We shared what we believed we had heard from God and agreed to pray for one another that week—both for favor and that we would be obedient to our “Who’s next and What next?” opportunities.

Commit to taking 5 minutes or more each week praying,
“Who’s Next, Lord & What Next, Lord?”
