Romans 8:4-5 This past summer at the beach, one of my friends on vacation with us chose which restaurant we were going to eat that night. When we pulled up, we began to be a little concerned. It was an old run down building. As we walked into the restaurant, things didn’t seem much better. It was a cramped little dining room that was dimly lit and poorly decorated. For some reason, we sat down anyway. We were still unsure of the place up until the moment we got our food as we dealt with a less than stellar waitress. Once we took the first bite, though, all of our complaints suddenly went away. The food was delicious, and, after all, that’s the most important thing when it comes to a restaurant. Sometimes we can think we are in the wrong place, but we are exactly where we are supposed to be. Even though all the signs pointed to it being a poor restaurant, it turned out to be a great restaurant when it counted the most. Maybe it’s time for some of us to realize that the specific situation we maybe have been complaining about or struggling through is where we are supposed to be. Maybe instead of it being something that we’ve thought has limited us, maybe God is using it to position us to be exactly where He wants us to be. When we face trying situations in our life, maybe we should stop focusing on the negative and start looking around to how God might be wanting to use us in our current place.]]>
