4 x 6 Plan | Read: Matthew 15:21-39 & Romans 13:8-14

“Dear woman,” Jesus said to her, “your faith is great. Your request is granted.” And her daughter was instantly healed. (Matthew 15:28)

In the early 20th century, there was a young girl named Rosa who was born into a poor family in a segregated community. Rosa faced countless obstacles and discrimination throughout her life, but she possessed a fiery spirit and an unwavering belief in justice. Despite being seen as insignificant by society, Rosa became a catalyst for change.  One fateful day, Rosa refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white passenger, sparking the Montgomery Bus Boycott. This act of defiance ignited a civil rights movement that would shape the course of history. Rosa’s courageous stand against injustice inspired countless others to join the fight for equality and set in motion a wave of change that transformed society.

Like the woman in the story, others can make us feel insignificant in our daily lives and maybe even feel unimportant to God.  It’s interesting that Jesus challenges this woman’s faith but actually going along with the crowd’s perception of a gentile woman.  Yet, she refuses to give in.  Because of this, she not only has her faith admired by Jesus but she also sees the miracle she needed that day.

The “Great” News of the Gospel | Romans 13:8-14

The gospel is good news because it is a message of radical love and grace that transforms our lives from the inside out. In Romans 13:8-14, we are reminded that the essence of the gospel is found in loving one another. This love goes beyond mere superficial gestures; it calls us to genuinely care for others, to treat them with kindness and compassion. It is a love that breaks down barriers, bridges divides, and brings healing to broken relationships. Therefore, let us embrace the gospel as good news, knowing that we are loved and accepted by God just as we are. Let us be conduits of His grace, showing love and kindness to those around us. May our lives reflect the transformative power of the gospel, drawing others to experience the Epic Life  found in Christ.
