Take a Moment

Ask God what He wants to show you before reading today

Read The Daily

“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” (1 John 3:18)

There’s a really powerful scene in the movie “Schindler’s List” where Oscar Schindler starts freaking out about the things he still owns and how they could have been used to save a few more lives during the Holocaust.  Itzhak Sternbig watches him start to freak out about so many wasted opportunities then says one of the greatest lines in any movie… “Oskar, there are eleven hundred people who are alive because of you. Look at them.”   Schindler understood something about God that sadly too many of us miss.

While words are important, actions can speak volumes. Jesus calls us to love through deed, not just speech. Take time to notice practical needs around you, then step in to help: visiting someone lonely, running an errand for a neighbor, babysitting for a stressed parent. Show God’s care through humble acts of service, not for recognition but simply to bless others. Ask Him to reveal specific needs around you, then take initiative to meet them.

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?

God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
