Bless with Gifts | Thursday – Week 5

Listen instead of reading

Take a Moment

Ask God what He wants to show you before reading today

Read The Daily

“Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” (Hebrews 13:16)

My daughter is similar to me in so many ways.  She can be pretty blunt and even her friends would struggle with her lack of empathy growing up.  Many times we would receive a message from an upset mom because our daughter just told them to toughen up or quit being a baby.  I know, I know…I probably have ruined her.  However, there is one thing that is different about us.  She has always been a gift-giver.  Even as a kid, she would always be making stuff to give to others.  It’s her love language.  Because of this, I would always try to focus on gifts for her as kid more than my son or wife (since gifts never seemed as important to them)

Whether “gifts” is a love language for you or not, a gift can communicate care when words and actions fall short. Offering a meal, homemade cookies, flowers or gift card can powerfully convey “I’m thinking of you.” We often underestimate a small gift’s impact. It doesn’t need to be expensive, just heartfelt. This week, ask God to show you a meaningful gift you can give someone: a neighbor, work colleague, child’s teacher. Let it reflect His generous heart of blessing.

Prayer for the Day

God what are you  showing me?  What am I going to do about it?

God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
