“Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.” (Matthew 13:8)
I grew up in a rural farm area. My wife also grew up on a farm with hundreds of acres. I’ve heard a ton of talk about planting corn, harvesting, etc. Now, I’m no farmer but I have stayed in a Holiday Inn before. The most fascinating thing about farm life is how a small seed can produce not only a crop but fields of crops. Think about it this way. Can you count the seeds in an apple? Sure if you cut it and take your time. Now a more difficult question. How many total apples are in the seeds of that same apple. We can count the seeds, but we can’t count the apples that can come from those seeds. It could literally create an orchard of thousands upon thousands of apples. What if the same is true for your life and mine? What if we would actually see what we are doing as seeds we are planting every day as we pray and look for ways to BLESS others. Even simple actions done in faith can have an exponential impact when God is behind them.
There’s a story about an outcast woman in the Bible who told the people about Jesus and many came to believe. God can use our simple acts of faith to multiply good news in the lives of many. The seeds that fell on good soil produced an exponential harvest. When we make ourselves available, God will produce fruit through us.elread-36
