See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. (Hebrews 3:12)
Have you ever longed for a faith that actually brought true transformation to you, and to others right now? I can relate. When I first became a Christian, my understanding of the gospel was pretty much focused on getting out of hell and where I would spend my afterlife. And it’s true; when I put my faith in Jesus, I inherited eternal life with God. But I thought (and was taught) very little about how this good news might actually affect this life. Here and now. This brings up a really good question. Is the Good News really good news?
How does the gospel speak into my marriage and parenting, my finances and identity? Is there good news about my job and time management in there too? Well there is, and we can grow in our ability to naturally and confidently speak, live and enjoy the Gospel in every area of life. It’s called Gospel Fluency and I’ve found it beneficial to use the 4G Gospel Tool.
I took a year of French in high school along with two years of German. Not to brag, but I’ve also spent over a year trying to learn Spanish in the Duolingo app lol. Honestly, I still don’t know any other language than English and with my grammar, that could be argued by most. However, there is something interesting in trying to become fluent in a language. As you’re learning a new language, it’s awkward because you have to think about the word in English, convert it, then try to say it in the new language. Becoming fluent in the gospel is also awkward at first. But over time it allows us to see the good news in every aspect of our lives and others. This week we want to help you learn to speak the good news in every area of your life as well.
Prayer for the Day
God what are you showing me? What am I going to do about it?
God help me to see one person that I can serve through a kind word, random act of kindness, or simple gift today?
