At the end of one of the most incredible building projects in human history, Solomon stood before God and the people of Israel and acknowledged that this building wasn’t enough. The whole earth couldn’t contain the God of the universe. So, how could a temple built by human hands? Solomon’s father, David, wanted to build a dwelling place for God. He begged for the opportunity to build a temple. But, he wasn’t the man for the job. Solomon, on the other hand, was the man for the job to build the temple. God equipped Solomon and provided him with everything he needed to complete the task, The process humbled Solomon, and he wa fully aware that a building couldn’t fully hold God. However, the temple was going to be a meeting place between God and His people. God would be present, just as He promised. Spend a few minutes today reflecting on how big and great God is. Share with Him your thoughts and thank Him for being present in your life even though He is so great.
