Ephesians 5:16 & Colossians 4:5 Have you ever watched a movie with a surprise twist at the end? Often, these movies have hints all throughout the movie that point to the big surprise at the end of the movie, but you don’t catch them at first because you’re not looking for it. After you’ve seen the big twist and go back to rewatch the movie, you finally can see all the hints peppered throughout it. All the sudden, you can now see what you were missing because you have a different perspective. Perspective is one of the most vital things when it comes to how we live our lives. When we are following Jesus, there will come a point when He will ask us to do something we’ve done countless times in our lives but do it with a different perspective. Maybe it’s how you view your role at work or the way you treat your family. It might be how you act with your waitress when you’re family is out for dinner or even just the way you approach going to church. Whatever it is, God will ask you to do it in a different way. Instead of going into whatever it is with an attitude of “what’s in it for me?” or “how can I get this over with quickly?”, you instead begin to think how you can use your time to serve others and point them to God. When you approach life with this perspective, you’ll start to see opportunities you never seen before because you’re looking at your life in a different way. Don’t waste the hours and minutes of your life that God has given you. Use them to point people to Him. God may not be asking you to completely change your life or lifestyle, He may just be asking you to do what you do in a different way. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:
- What was the best part of your day?
- What was the toughest part of your day?
- Where did you mess up today?
- Where did you see God today?
