Moses went back up the mountain for another forty days to spend time in the presence of God. When he went back to the people, his face was glowing. It was obvious to all the people that he’d been with someone that wasn’t human. They had never seen a man’s face look like that before. Instead of being comforted, the people were afraid again. They wanted God to be smaller and something they could control, but this was just another hint that God was bigger than they could manage. Whenever someone is truly close to God in their life, it’s evident to everyone around them. This sometimes can make people uncomfortable because we often like to be able to have a grasp on our own gods in our life. Spend a few minutes today praying that God will help you be close enough to Him that your relationship with Him is evident to everyone you are around.
