  3. Where did you mess up today?

  4. Where did you see God today?

PRAY: This prayer prompt is designed to help get you started in your prayer time. Use this to either begin your personal prayer time or your prayer time with your spouse or family.

David’s last days were messy. It was as if all of David’s sin and heartaches came back one last time before he died. Adonijah, David’s third son, was in line for David’s throne because both of his older brothers had passed away. Absalom had killed Amnon after committing a terrible sin, and Absalom had been killed in the battle in which he tried to take the throne from his father. It got even worse when Bathsheba demanded that David make their son, Solomon, king. David’s sin with Bathsheba had started the issues in the first place. Even on his deathbed, David was still plagued by the consequences of his sin decades earlier. David was a passionate pursuer of God, and God showed him huge mercies. There is always forgiveness, but that forgiveness doesn’t keep the consequences of our sins from rippling through our lives for years. Spend time in prayer today asking Him for forgiveness for past sins, ask Him to help you deal with the consequences of your past sins, and thank Him for always offering forgiveness.
