Romans 12:1-2 While camping with a group of friends last year, we decided to go on a hike in the woods. We had planned on just being out for 45 minutes to an hour, but we got lost. We wandered through the woods for hours trying to find our way back. If you’ve ever been lost, you know the helplessness that you feel as you wander aimlessly trying to find your way. This is how life feels to many of us at times. We feel like we are just wandering aimlessly through life hoping to find our way. One of the most common questions people ask is “how do I know what God’s will is for my life?” Many times, we want to know what we are supposed to do with our lives, but we don’t do the things that we need to do to figure it out. God speaks to us many ways. One of those ways is through His Word, the Bible. When you read the Bible, we are “transformed by the renewing of your mind.” When you spend time listening to God and His Word, you probably won’t immediately  figure out everything you are supposed to do with your life. You will, however, begin to hear God as He shows you what direction to go. “Read your bible” is a generic Christian answer for becoming closer to God and figuring out what we are supposed to do, but it is an essential part of becoming the follower of Jesus that we need to become. Do you consistently spend time listening to God through reading his word? How can you make it a bigger part of your daily routine?]]>
