James 1:19-25 Have you ever given someone advice and watched the person turn around and do exactly what you warned them not to do? Or, let’s be honest, how many times have someone tried to tell  you to do one thing and you turned around and did the exact opposite? It doesn’t matter if someone KNOWS what the right thing to do is. The only thing that matters is what someone DOES with what they know. James says that someone who reads the Bible and doesn’t do what it says is like a person who looks in the mirror and doesn’t do anything about cleaning up the hot mess we see looking back at us. Reading the Bible (or going to church and hear someone teach from the Bible or discussing it in a Bible study, etc) is great, but it doesn’t matter what you learn or how much you KNOW, it only matters what you DO with what you know. It’s not enough to just learn about what God says, we have to do something about cleaning up the hot mess. What can you do to start applying God’s teaching to your life?]]>
