Matthew 24:35-36 Do you know a “know-it-all?” You know the type who want people to think they know everything there is to know about anything that comes up. It doesn’t matter if you’re an expert in your field, and they only heard about it fifteen minutes ago, they will correct you and tell you why they are right and why you are wrong. Whether we realize it or not, most of us are more like those “know-it-all’s” than we care to admit. We want to think we know what’s going on and have everything figured out. And, when someone disagrees with us, we are quick to point out how wrong they are. This is one reason why some people get so worked up about whether or not we are living in the end of the world. Since the time Jesus walked on this earth, there have been people who were sure that they knew when the world is going to end. Even today, there will be someone that pops up every few years who convinces a group of people they know when life as we know it will cease. The problem, though, is that God has told us that no one knows when that time will come. All of our guesses and predictions are all conjecture. Only He truly knows. But, this bothers us because we want to know it all. We want to try to figure everything out. We want all the information because we want to feel like we are in control of our own lives. There comes a point, though, whether talking about the end times or how to deal with the tough situations we all find ourselves in, that we have to admit we don’t know everything. In those moments, we must learn to simply truth our Heavenly Father.]]>
