Read Hebrews 12:14 & Romans 12:18

I have confrontation. If I see an argument coming up, I run away from it. If someone is approaching me when I know they are upset with me, I just want to hide. I don’t even like going to the doctor or the dentist because I hate having them tell me all the things I’m doing wrong. I prefer to keep the peace. The problem with this approach is that nothing gets resolved and the issues become much greater than if I just simply dealt with them when they came up.

Many of us are peacekeepers. We want to avoid confrontation and keep the peace no matter what. We are people pleasers. We will allow people to walk all over us or use us. When we are upset, we don’t say much because we don’t want the hassle. We end up becoming a doormat.

Sometimes having peace means that you have to go through some conflict to get there. In fact, sometimes conflict is a good thing. God will use it in your life and other people’s lives. Things can get resolved and everyone can move on.

Don’t be so afraid of conflict that you end up becoming a peacekeeper instead of a peacemaker.
