Read Proverbs 11:12, Proverbs 16:18 & Luke 18:14
Have you ever been debating with arguing with someone when you suddenly realize that you’ve actually been wrong the whole time, and they’ve been right all along? How do you typically react? Do you laugh it off or apologize and admit your mistake? Or, do you continue the argument trying to prove you are right even when you know you are wrong? In those situations, are you more worried about saving face or save your relationship?
The greatest enemy to peacemaking is pride. Tension in our relationships are usually the result of two people who are too prideful to admit to being wrong or to apologize. Many times, we don’t think we did anything wrong, or we don’t think we need to say sorry. Many times, we refuse to apologize first. We want to save face because of pride.
How often do we drag our conflict because we are too prideful to admit we were wrong or messed up? Is there someone you need to put away your pride with today, admit you are wrong, and apologize to?
