Read Ephesians 4:2-3
One of the coolest things about Jesus to me is that He chose to come and die on the cross, so we can have a relationship with Him even though we were the ones that screwed up. Think about it for a second. Most of us are willing to do things and sacrifice for people who are good to us. We are willing to fix the relationship when we were the ones who messed up, but, if they were the ones to mess up, it’s on them. We care more about ourselves then our relationship. When Jesus died on the cross for us, He cared more about our relationship with Him than He cared about Himself.
The greatest fried to peacemaking is humility. When you humble yourself in a conflict, you elevate the relationship above yourself. You say that this relationship is more important than feeling that you are right. Even when we feel like we are right in a situation, you have to love the other person more than you love being right.
Has there been any situations where you’ve chosen being right over saving a relationship?
