2 Corinthians 9:6-7 As a kid, I always hated doing my chores. I absolutely despised cleaning my room. I guess I enjoyed living my little kid life like a hoarder. My mom would constantly get on me to get all my chores done. After trying to argue myself out of the work, I would reluctantly do it. Even when I did it, my mom wasn’t thrilled with me because of how much I pouted and complained as I did it. In my mom’s world, attitude matter in how I was doing what I was doing, even if I, eventually, did the right thing. Just like when I was a kid, our attitudes are incredibly important. Even when you do the right things, but you do them for the wrong reasons or with the wrong motives, you’re still wrong. Your attitude matters when you serve God. Not only that, but your heart also matters when you give generously to God and the people He puts in your life. When we give generously, God blesses us and others in incredible ways, but, if we give out of a feeling of guilt, we are robbing ourselves and God of all that He wants to do in and around our lives. When our heart and attitudes are in the right place, we are better prepared to see how God is moving through our generosity. // TWO-A-DAYS // GO A LITTLE FARTHER WITH YOUR DAILY DEVOTIONS // Go through these questions with your spouse, kids, or friend, or you can even journal about the answers to these questions:
- What was the best part of your day?
- What was the toughest part of your day?
- Where did you mess up today?
- Where did you see God today?
