We don’t know why God does things the way He does. After providing for Elijah by the brook, He sent him to live with a widow and her son. The Lord once again miraculously provided for them, but, after that, the boy suddenly died. Elijah didn’t understand what was going on, and the mother shouted at Elijah. He had no answer for her. As the widow questioned God, Elijah prayed for the boy to be healed. Elijah didn’t try to understand God, he simply told God His request and waited for God to respond. He trusted God knew what was best. Pray today to ask God to help you learn to be okay with not knowing why He does the things that He does. You can even share with Him the way you’d prefer things to work out, and ask Him to help you accept that He knows best in all situations.
