1 Peter 5:7 One of the toughest teachers I ever had in school was my high school chemistry teacher. The class had at least double the work that any other class I took had, and it was one of the more boring classes I had to endure. Because of that, I hated going to chemistry class. What was really cool, though, is once I got to college and took chemistry, I found I already knew much of the material we were covering. Even though my teacher was tough and led a boring class, she prepared me well for my next step. Even though it didn’t seem like it at the time when I was doing 20 pages of homework every night, she really did have our best interests in mind. Sometimes the rules God gives us to live by can seem like a drag. It feels like He’s constantly like an overprotective mother all the time saying “do this and don’t do that!” But, like my high school chemistry teacher, He really does have our best interests at heart. He gives us simple guidelines to live by because He cares about us and wants the best for us. In areas of our life like sex, He knows how quickly we can create havoc in our life without following the way He created for sex to be enjoyed. It’s not that God doesn’t want us to enjoy life or things like sex, He does. In fact, He created those things for us. But, He also knows the ways it can be good and the ways that can be harmful. He gives us rules to follow, so we can stay on the track that leads to enjoyment instead of destruction. God cares about you and wants you to live an awesome life. If you’ve strayed from God’s guidelines, it’s time to get back on course because He knows what’s best for you.  ]]>
