Mark 7:21-23 For my senior year in high school, I was committed to only taken the easiest classes possible. I tried my best to take only cake classes the entire year. Some of them were literally about cake because I took Home Ec one semester. One of our big projects in that class was to make a gingerbread house. I was in a group with three other guys, and we all are big Ohio State fans, so we decided to make Ohio State’s stadium, “The Horseshoe,” for our gingerbread house. We far exceeded our teacher’s expectations, and the football stadium made of gingerbread, nerds, bubble gum, and twizzlers turned out awesome. We had several near disasters while building it, though, because one of the guys in the group would manage to ruin something every time he touched the gingerbread house. He would knock down the goal post, smear frosting everywhere, or drop bags of candy on top of the entire area. It didn’t matter what he was doing, it would find a way to mess things up. We are like this sometimes with our life. God loves to give us awesome stuff and bless us, and we love to mess things up. God gives us beautiful things like sex to be enjoyed, and we twist them around and make them dirty and sinful. We constantly ruin the good things that God blesses us with because of our sinful nature. The good news, though, is that God still loves to put back together all the broken pieces after we’ve messed things up. It doesn’t matter how badly we’ve jacked things up, God can still make it awesome. If you’ve made mistakes in your life and went outside of what God has had for you in areas such as sex, it’s not too late to get back on track and live life God’s way.]]>
