James 4:8 Several years ago I went to a concert with some friends. It was general admission, so you could stand wherever you wanted for the concert. Naturally, we pushed as close as we possibly could to the front to get as close to the stage as possible to get the best view of the concert. As we weaved through the crowd, I noticed that the farther up front we got, the closer people were. And, the closer people were, the more likely you were to encounter flailing body parts as people danced or got upset you were trying to push you way in front of them. When someone “accidentally” slapped me upside the head, I decided I had went far enough to the front. In the same way, the closer we get to sin, the more dangerous things becomes. We love to look at life as “how close to the line can I possibly get before it’s considered sinning?” We do this in all aspects of life, but it’s no where more evident than sexually. We want to know where the line that separates sin and not sin is, so we can get as close as we can to it without going over. But, our sex life isn’t the price is right. The closer we get to the line, the more dangerous to ourselves and those around us we are. And, the closer we get to the line, the farther away we get from God. Maybe instead of focusing on how close we can get to the line we should begin focusing on how close we can get to God in our relationship with Him.  ]]>
