John 14:12-14 Have you ever been around someone who always looks at the negative side of things? You know the type. Those who claim they are just “being realistic,” when, in fact, they are usually just being a buzzkill. They often come up with outlandish doomsday scenarios of why everything is going to fall apart and nothing will work out if the group does a certain thing because of one tiny detail. Sometimes they have a point, but, more often than not, they are making a mountain out of a molehill. Because of their negativity, they and usually everyone else misses out on something that could have been great. Whether we know of people like this or are that type of person when it comes to a group trying to accomplish something, we all have those same negative tendencies when it comes to thinking about our own life. In the Bible, Jesus tells us that we will do greater things than He even did while on the earth, but that’s hard for most of us to believe. We have a million excuses as to why things wouldn’t work out if we stepped up and did the things God is prompting us to do. We think we aren’t good enough, aren’t smart enough, that things just don’t fit our personalities, or that our past will keep us from being used. We constantly come up with excuse after excuse as to why we cannot be used by God while God gives us reason after reason to trust Him and step out in faith. Whatever your excuses are for living life status quo, it doesn’t fly with God. God has an incredible plan for your life that you’ll miss out on unless you’re willing to step up and trust Him.]]>
