1 Samuel 17:48-53 We were down by one point. It was the last possession of the game. The starting fullback for our football team grabbed the ball, plowed through the defenders with the ball tucked underneath his arm barrelling toward his goal for what he believed would be the game winning points. He jumped with excitement. The problem was we were playing pickup basketball, and he failed to dribble one time from the top of the key to the basket. His move would have been impressive had we been playing football. On the basketball court, not so much. In every game there are rules you have to follow to play. The same is true in life. How we live and fight against the spiritual battles we face is just as important as anything else. We can even do things with good intentions, but, if we don’t do it God’s way, we’ve still failed. How we fight is just as important as why we fight. We can’t just do whatever we want, however we want to do it, and expect God to bless it. We have to live life God’s way. It’s only then that He will bless our efforts. We have to play by His rules. Do you sometimes get caught up in trying to live life on your own terms? Spend time today talking to God about how you can begin living according to His ways.]]>
