2 Corinthians 1:8-11 & Ephesians 3:20 One of life’s greatest mysteries is why God made men and women so different if He wanted married couples to stay together. He certainly didn’t make it easy. Typically, women like to talk about feelings and men not so much. Men can go periods of time without thinking about anything, and women can’t fathom that being possible. Women want to feel loved and beautiful, and men want to be respected. Sometimes it seems like men and women couldn’t be anymore different. Wouldn’t it make sense that God would make it easier for us to have successful relationships by making us more alike? Maybe, but God doesn’t always like to do easy. He wants us to see our need for Him and turn toward Him in our relationships and our lives in general. In 2 Corinthians, Paul knew hard times. Life was tough for him as he faced one trouble after the other in his ministry. Paul said it all happened, so he “might not rely on himself, but on God, who raises the dead.” Our God is a God with the power to raise the dead. He is wise and gentle, omniscient and mighty, and He does not mean for us to do life alone. He desperately wants us to surrender our relationships to Him that He might deliver them from what they have been to what He intends them to be.]]>
