Read Psalm 8
It’s fascinating when you look back and see that ordinary people literally rewrote the history books. One of the most renowned figures in history who could easily be described as a least likely gamechanger early on was Abraham Lincoln. Few people realize or know that Abraham actually had a tough road before he became one of the most respected leaders in our nation’s history. He actually lost several elections before finally getting a shot at a representative position with the state of Illinois and a few more before becoming president. That’s one of the greatest features about God. He frequently uses the least likely people to change the world.
In the Bible, he loved to use people, particularly the outcasts, the sick, and the people society rejected. In 2 Kings, he used four lepers who were literally a few days from starvation. These guys were stuck in a situation where all of their options ended with death as a distinct and likely possibility. These guys took a chance though and decided that unconditional surrender to their enemy was the best option. Little did they know that God was setting them up to be the most unlikely of heroes.
What area of your life is God calling you to step out and make a difference? Even when it feels hopeless or uncomfortable, remember that God loves to use the most unlikely people to do the most extraordinary things.]]>
