Read Romans 6:21-23

“I didn’t have a choice.” We’ve all heard stories of people who made a decision because they had no other option that to do what they did. Maybe it was something heroic they did, or maybe they made a tough choice that was the right thing to do even though it was difficult. Sometimes we are put in situations in life where we are in between a rock and a hard place. We are running out of options, and the outlook doesn’t look great. It’s in these moments where we often have to make tough decisions and hope things work out for the best.

There is no situation that seems more hopeless at first than our sin. We’re all sinners, and, because of our sin, we are all dying and separated from God. Without God’s mercy, we would be hopeless and have no options. But, God does love us and is merciful to us. He sent His Son to die for our sin in our lowest moment. God is our only option, and He is our only hope.

Have you ever accepted God’s merciful gift of salvation? If so, do you still turn toward Him as you face tough situations?]]>
