Read 2 Kings 5:13-14

Sometimes in life, we are faced with lessons, advice, and situations that simply don’t make sense.  During these times, it is important to obey even if it doesn’t make sense.

In our story, Naaman couldn’t see how washing in the disgusting Jordan River seven times could ever cure his leprosy.  He had traveled from a land with much cleaner rivers, so traveling to visit Elisha and bathing in the Jordan didn’t make much sense at all to Naaman.  Fortunately, his was convinced to try it anyway.  He obeyed even when what he was told didn’t make sense.  Sometimes, we have a warped view of God as Google.

We want answers without a process.  We want explanations when situations don’t make sense.  However, we serve a God that answers things in his timing.  Make it a point to listen to God even when it doesn’t make sense.  You never know, it could take your life in an entirely new and exciting direction.]]>
